I once worked as the Editorial Artist for a daily newspaper. One of my colleagues was a brilliant cartoonist called Ged (Ged Mellling). He was shown no respect from the management (who were complete philistines and didn't realise what a total genius he was) and they wouldn't even give him a desk, so I was very happy to let him share mine.
One day, after we'd both had a run-in with the editor, Ged asked me to stand up, and in a matter of seconds, he created this cartoon of me...

It's very good advice, which I will be trying to follow throughout 2025...
Here is the cover I've designed for my recently completed novella, 'Entryphone'.

So, what is ‘Entryphone’? Well, it’s stand-alone flash fictions, fiction, poetry, quotations, a music playlist, two recipes, plus five specially created photo illustrations, and all of them interacting together to form a cohesive narrative. It was interesting to discover how placing the poems within the mix gave them a whole new context. I can’t think of anything else like it, and the main criteria for writing it all was that I should absolutely love doing it, and hopefully that is apparent when reading it.
What's it about? ‘Entryphone’ could be described as: a celebration of music, coffee, wine, unsung genius women composers (largely ignored because of the appalling sexism which continues to this day in classical music), vegan food, love, friendship and the desire to capture all of these things forever with vintage cameras.
Entryphone is now available to read for free on the new 'Flipbook' page.
Here's one of the illustrations...

I have very reluctantly decided to set up a Facebook page
(I know…), but not for the usual ‘here’s a picture of what I had for lunch’ reasons, but more of a means to promote and provide a link to this website. Also to have a space to showcase some of the early cameras that I collect along with some of the images I have created with them.
